Installation of utility connections
The Dirk De Groof Group, is the leading company in supervising public utility installation work projects.
We mediate by coordinating all of the necessary arrangements with supply companies in order to ensure the successful completion of utility connection works from the very start of the project.
Whether you are a developer, an architect or a building owner (private individuals), being spared this challenging and time-consuming task can be quite a relief.
We not only supervise residential projects (both single-family houses and residential buildings and complexes), but also shops, industrial buildings, warehouses, etc.
We organise utility contracts with the respective companies to ensure the end customer’s smooth connection to the necessary supplies.
In other words, we are the ideal intermediary as we take the stress away from building owners and ensure the proper supervision of utilities, as well as the timely and correct handover.
We supervise several hundred residential properties per year for our well-known regular customers, making this a truly worthwhile service for people who would prefer to spend their precious time dealing with other matters.
From the design phase, right through to the drawing up of plans, we advise customers (architects, project developers, building owners, etc.) on:
- network installations
- meter dimensions
- distribution cabin installation
- connectivity
- …
We also contact local supply operators (in Belgium, Fluvius, Pidpa, Water-link, Rio-link, Vivaqua, etc.) to find out more about the current guidelines that are in place for obtaining the necessary connections.
Once the planning permit and the necessary customer information have been received/issued, a request for a temporary power supply enclosure must be submitted to the local network manager (Fluvius, etc.) through a provisional or definitive wire.
We also take care of:
- issuing the correct guidelines
- the local network operator’s offer
- the date of the connection’s execution
We communicate with the local network manager to organise the removal of the existing site meter and requests for final gas and electricity connections (Fluvius…), and we also deal with other services and supplies such as water, sewerage and telecom connections.
We arrange on-site meetings with the party responsible for the network operators, in which we review the current guidelines, so that an offer and an execution date can be provided.
Once the utilities supplies have been set up, we organize for the gas, water and electricity meters to be switched on.
