Dirk De Groof has been working on dampness issues (rising damp, penetrating damp, condensation, damp issues on terraces and waterproofing of underground constructions) since 1995 (for almost 25 years).
We have also attended several specialised and professional training courses, both at home and abroad (France, England, Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands…), where we have been able to study all kinds of different techniques, and we have also conducted damp proofing studies in other continents such as Africa, Asia and America, meaning that we are able to propose, monitor and implement effective solutions and guarantee real results.
After successfully completing the specific university training “Introduction to law for legal experts ” at the University of Ghent (Faculty of Law), we were able to add our name, alongside other dampness specialists, to the list of experts for several courts (Vredegerecht, Eerste Aanleg, Ondernemingsrechtbank, …) in the Flemish Region.
Thanks to our expertise, these courts regularly call on us to provide them with specialist advice in disputes relating to dampness issues. Lawyers also rely on our broad and specific technical knowledge to assist them (and their clients) as technical counsel.
Dirk De Groof is also a member of the Belgian Chamber of Experts for Judicial and Arbitration assignments, and a lot of interesting information is exchanged between experts during their regular meetings. In addition, the board for mediation and conciliation in construction disputes organises a number of practical training sessions that are delivered by specialists and which aim to broaden knowledge on various subjects.
As experienced experts, we are always able to provide independent advice on these issues.
After making an appointment by telephone, we can arrange a site visit where we can take any required measurements and report specific findings.
In order to avoid unnecessary costs, we provide completely independent advice verbally, as well as any other information in the first instance without having to draw up a report.
If it is necessary to draw up a report, or if destructive testing is required, the cost of this will always be discussed on site.
ATTENTION: We do not carry out any waterproofing works ourselves, nor do we perform any other commercial activities!
